Edwardian 15ct Gold & Platinum, Diamond & Pearl Pendant on Silver Chain

Written by Olly Gerrish

An attractive Edwardian pendant that was made circa 1910-1920. It is an interesting design as although it has a stylised fleur de lis in the centre it is quite geometric in its form. After 1910 it heralded the onset of the Art deco period in the 1920s so quite a few pieces that we come across are transitional in their design. It is set with graded old mine cut diamonds and has an articulated natural bouton pearl with three small diamonds above. It is 15ct gold on the reverse with a platinum front. The reverse is beautifully finished which is a sign of quality in antique jewellery. The chain is silver.
