Early Victorian 18ct Gold Black Enamel & Natural Split Pearl Ring

797T
200 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

For collectors of mourning rings this 18ct gold early Victorian ring is a lovely example. Engraved inside the shank is “M Brierly Obt (died) Mar 22 1858”. It has been set with three natural split pearls (for tears) and black enamel in the form of a cross in the centre. On the reverse is a small glazed locket with a woven lock of hair inside. It is an unusual design and in great condition.
