Early 19th Century 15ct Gold, Natural Split Pearls & Carved Onyx Flower Ring

102U
200 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty 15ct gold ring that was made circa 1820-1830. The top is a carved banded onyx of a pansy that is a pun on the flower and literally means “Pense a Moi” “Think of me”. Around it are ten natural split pearls that represent “Tears” so this ring was a mourning ring to remember someone by. The shank has a baroque feel with scrolling shoulders. A beautiful ring that is a delicate look and very wearable.
