Early 18th Century Gold & Diamond Armorial Ring set with a Carnelian

870T
400 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

An early signet ring that was most likely made in Germany circa 1720. It is 18ct gold and has been set with table cut diamonds mounted in silver. The carnelian has a carved intaglio of a crest. It consists of a coronet above a monogram possibly JS within an ornate canted shield. The shank is pierced with leaves and criss cross motifs. It can be sized but it would disturb the pattern. A rare survival of the early 18th century.

Ollys Pick

A rare signet ring that is really beautiful.
