Art Deco Siver, Marcasite & Paste Brooch

Written by Olly Gerrish

A very stylish Art Deco silver brooch that was most likely made in Germany in the 1920s. It is an exact copy of its more expensive counterpart that would have been made in platinum and set with carved emeralds, cabochon sapphires, rubies and graduated diamonds. This brooch is a cornucopia design and has been set with coloured and white paste and graduated marcasite (iron pyrites). It looks really good when worn on a lapel.
