Art Deco Platinum, Five Stone Sapphire Ring

994M
715 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A good looking platinum ring set with five well matched sapphires that was made in the 1920s.  The sapphires are Basaltic stones which were formed in basalt rock pillars when the minerals were brought up to the surface by volcanos 18 million years ago. They are quite a brilliant blue which is typical of these Basaltic stones. It would make a wonderful engagement ring.
