Art Deco Platinum & Diamond Hoop Earrings by Alabaster & Wilson

Written by Olly Gerrish

These earrings are so pretty. They were made in the Art Deco period, circa 1920-1935. They consist of two horseshoe shaped hoops, the inner hoop has been set with square cut diamonds and the outer hoop has been set with old transitional cut diamonds which add contrast to the overall design. It is such a clever look as they give the impression of a complete circle when worn. They were made by Alabaster & Wilson who have been manufacturing gold and diamond set fine jewellery in Birmingham since 1887. At present they are screw fittings. Many pairs of earrings that were made during the Art Deco period were for non pierced ears as so few people had their ears pierced during and after the First World War. They can be changed to post and scroll fittings if wanted.
