Art Deco Platinum, Diamond and Sapphire Target Ring

474U

Written by Olly Gerrish

This platinum ring is typical of the early Art Deco period, circa 1920. It is a mixture of a target and cluster design. In the centre is a collet set bright white diamond surrounded by well matched royal blue sapphires. The sapphires are in a scalloped milgraine setting with further diamonds surrounding them. The influence of the prettier look of the Edwaridan period makes this a more unusual target design. There are small diamonds set into the shoulders and a very pretty engraving on the shank. This would make a beautiful engagement ring.
