Art Deco 18ct White Gold Ring set with a Rectangular Cut Zircon with Diamond Shoulders

163X
Written by Olly Gerrish

An impressive 18ct white gold ring that has been claw set with a beautiful blue zircon that has an approximate weight of just under six carats. Blue zircon has been popular since the lat 19th century when fine gems were often featured in English estate jewellery dating from the 1880s.  However they really caught on in the Art Deco period as they display metallic blue flashes which are much purer than the sea water blue of aquamarines.

This ring was made in the 1930s and still cuts a dash when worn.
