Art Deco 18ct Gold & Platinum, Zircon & Diamond Ring

729W
40 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely 18ct gold ring that was made in the 1920s and has been claw set with a zircon. The zircon is flanked by small diamonds set in two curved lines on each shoulder with a further small diamond below.  Zircons were used a lot during the Art Deco period and are one of the oldest stones that have been set in jewellery for over 2000 years. They occur in an array of colours from yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues. The zircon in this ring is an electric colour blue that contrasts well with the ornate pierced diamond set shoulders.

It would make a perfect engagement or dress ring.
