9ct Gold Signet Ring with Intaglio of Prince of Wales Feathers

Written by Olly Gerrish

A good looking 9ct gold signet ring that was made in London in 1938 just before the start of the 2nd World War. It has been engraved with the Prince of Wales feathers. The feathers date back to Edward, the Black Prince (1330-1376) who was the heir apparent to Edward 111. Edward 111 chose three ostrich feathers as an alternative to his Royal Arms described as his “Shield for Peace”. A neat ring to wear.
