1950’s 18ct Gold Ring set with a Large Rectangular Cut Aquamarine

100W
160 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A gorgeous and very impressive 18ct gold ring that was made in the 1950s. It was imported in to France and stamped with the owl mark as proof that it is 18ct gold. It is typical of 1950’s design with a gold wire shank to a claw setting. The huge rectangular cut aquamarine has an intense blue colour and an estimated weight of over 26 carats.  Aquamarine’s name comes from the Latin for seawater and it was said to calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea. March’s birthstone was also thought to enhance the happiness of marriages. It also represents the 19th year of marriage. This ring can be resized larger but please note that there may be an extra cost due to the added gold.
