18ct Three Colour Gold Ring by Deakin & Frances

Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual three colour gold ring that was made in 1883 by Deakin & Frances. Founded in 1786, The company was originally known as Deakin and Moore from 1848–1879. Charles Deakin retired in 1881 and John Francis joined the firm. The company then became known as Deakin & Francis, becoming a limited company in 1902. Deakin & Frances are famous for high quality jewellery and this ring is no exception. Each alternating ivy leaf is a different colour gold lemon yellow and rose gold. The background is a buttery yellow gold. It would have been a wedding band as the ivy leaf motif literally means “Cling to me”. What a stunning ring to wear always. This ring is a size N 1/2 and we would not recommend resizing as it would spoil the design.
