Boodles is an old jewellers company that was established in the early 1800s. Liverpool had become one of the wealthiest cities in the world thanks to its place at the heart of the British trading empire. Exotic goods from around the globe passed through the city, and an affluent merchant class emerged. The company did well and became known for their quality jewellery and are still going today. This ring is very good quality and has been rub over set in 18ct yellow gold with a square cut emerald and rub over set in platinum with a square cut diamond with three further small diamonds set in to each of the shoulders. The two colour metals and the different stones create a great contrast and makes this ring very wearable as a dress or as an engagement ring. It was made in the 1970-1980 period.
