Mid-Century 18ct Gold & Platinum, Aquamarine & Diamond Rectangular Ring

544S
Written by Olly Gerrish

A good looking 18ct gold ring with a platinum top that was made in the 1950s. It has been claw set with an emerald cut aquamarine. It is surrounded by small diamonds on a lower level. Aquamarine’s name comes from the Latin for seawater and it was said to calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea. It is also the birthstone for march and thought to enhance the happiness of marriages. It sits low on the finger so it is a practical ring to wear on a daily basis.
