Victorian Silver & Gold Double Heart Brooch with Ivy Leaf Motif

448T
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

This brooch says everything about love. It is composed of two intertwined hearts, further emphasised with two diamonds side by side. Looped through the hearts and to either side are ivy leaves. The meaning is clear as the ivy literally means “Cling to me”, the double hearts are for “Unity” of two people, and the diamonds are “Forever”. it was made circa 1880-1900 and the diamonds are set in silver on the front with gold on the reverse. A wonderful present to give to someone you love.
