Victorian 18ct Gold, Turquoise & Diamond Cluster Ring

137W
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a gorgeous early Victorian ring that was made circa 1840-1850. It has been set with a beautiful even coloured turquoise that would have been sourced in Iran (Persia) Around it on a slightly lower level are small old mine cut diamonds. Turquoise was often used in antique jewellery as it had a secret meaning “Forget me not” after the flower of the same name, so this ring would have originally been given as a token of affection. It is as appropriate to give to a loved one today as it was in the 1840s.
