Victorian 18ct Gold Tie Pin of a Snake Coiled Around a Coral Bead

430W
Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual tie pin that was made circa 1880. It is composed of an gold snake wound around a bead. Snake designs have featured in ancient designs in jewellery but were really popular from the early 1800s onwards. The snake motif represented “Eternal love and wisdom” The use of the coral further emphasises those meanings.
All our tie pins come with a stopper at the end of the pin.
