Victorian 18ct Gold Ring set with Two Pear Shaped Old Mine Cut Diamonds

507W
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very unusual gold ring that was made circa 1860. It has been set with diamonds that were most likely sourced from the Golconda mines in India. The two principal diamonds are an interesting pear shaped cut and are well matched stones. They sit close to each other so it may well have been a special commission as an engagement ring. On either side are more diamonds. The and are carved with scroll motifs. It sits low on the finger and curves around it nicely.

A pretty special ring.
