Victorian 18ct Gold Locket with Blue Enamelled Anchor Motif

918U
Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual 18ct gold oval locket that was made in the 1850s. It has been finely enamelled in Royal blue with an anchor and chain. For Christians the anchor symbolises Hope, Stability, Steadfastness, guidance and Strength, so it is a lovely meaning. It has been engraved inside “In memory of Catherine Paley died 1st of Dec 1858 aged 82”.
