Victorian 18ct Gold, Emerald Paste Three stone Ring

577S
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is an amazingly convincing 18ct gold ring that was made in the late 1800s. It has been set with three emerald cut pastes to imitate emeralds. Paste is literally a leaded glass which has been fired and infused with colour to imitate emeralds. Emeralds were highly expensive in the Victorian period so paste was used quite often in collars, rings and bracelets. Each paste has been set in a cut down octagonal mount so the effect is neat and pretty. The trifurcated shoulders also give the ring a light look.

Ollys Pick

A stunning look and the paste is an incredible colour!
