Victorian 18ct Gold, Black Enamel & Cabochon Garnet Mourning Ring

An 18ct gold mourning ring that was made in 1852 in Birmingham. It has been set with a foil backed cabochon garnet with a circle of black enamel around it. The shoulders are an unusual scroll design with further black enamel. Around the shank it reads “In memory of”. It is a decorative and striking ring to wear.
