307L/PR
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very impressive and unusual dirk that was made circa 1870. It pulls out to reveal a serrated dagger. It is set with carved pieces of , and deep red , and has a at the top. The silver mounts have been hand engraved with fern designs. This type of jewellery started being produced after Queen Victoria purchased Balmoral Castle in the 1860s. Pebbles were gathered from river beds and polished in to the stones that you see in this dirk for example. is a great thing to collect as each piece is an art form in itself.
