Large Regency Gold Seal with Citrine Intaglio of a Crest

630F
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A fine large gold seal, made circa 1800-1820 in the Regency period. It has a very detailed intaglio carved into the citrine of a crest with the word “Spero” meaning “Hope”. It would look terrific worn on a mid length gold chain. The crest appears to be for part of the following families coat of arms, Gordon, Mercer, Millar, Ral, Ralph, Reid, and Malthouse.
