Georgian Silver & Gold, Almandine Garnet Bangle

653T
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very unusual and beautifully made bangle that dates from around 1830 and is most likely of Austro-Hungarian origin. It is a glorious design reminiscent of Renaissance jewellery. The pinched collet set stones are shallow flat cut almandine garnets that have been foiled to the reverse to give the stones luminescence. It hinges open at the side of the large cluster. It is mainly silver with gold applied edges and clasp. Comfortable to wear and very striking!

I have been wearing this since we bought it but it is now time to let it go!
