Georgian Silver & Flat Cut Almandine Garnet Flower Brooch/ Pendant

951L
Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely brooch that was made circa 1820. It is a pretty design with a central flower and buds and leaves around it. It has been set with garnets. The practice of foiling was common at that period as the stones were flat cut and the silver gave them added translucency. It has a gold loop on the reverse so it can be worn as a pendant too.
