Georgian Revival 9ct Gold Drop Earrings set with Flat Cut Garnets

141X
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty pair of 9ct gold and flat cut cut garnet drop earrings that were made circa 1900-1910. At that time there was a Georgian Revival and necklaces, earrings and rings were produced using the flat cut garnets that were popular in the 1820s. The slight difference is that the later pieces have been pinched collet set and foiled with redder stones. They are not the purplish almandine garnets that were so common in the Georgian era. So it is fairly easy to tell the dateline although we often see pieces listed or sold as Georgian.

Either way these earrings are very pretty and feature three oval shaped garnets and one pear shaped garnet in each earring.
