Georgian Pearl & Diamond Cluster Opening Ring

A lovely late Georgian 18ct gold mourning ring which has pearls which traditionally were for tears, and a small diamond for eternity. The ring opens up and contains a lock of hair. It is engraved on the reverse with the date 1834 and the name and date of death – ‘Mary Gould, obit 2 Dec 1834, aged 81’.
