Georgian Diamond Crescent Brooch

A pretty crescent brooch which was made circa 1800-1820 in England. It has been set with rose diamonds which were popular at the time as they were wonderful in a candle lit setting and caught the light beautifully. As to the meaning of this brooch, the crescent moon symbolises new beginnings.  Because of this cyclic nature the moon it is also connected to death and how our true essence really is immortal. This sent a powerful message to the wearer so this piece could have could have  been a mourning brooch.
