Georgian 18ct Gold Snake Split Ring

957L
Written by Olly Gerrish

An interesting gold split ring that was really used for attaching seals to, but it can also be worn as a ring. It was made circa 1820. The subject on this ring is the serpent biting, devouring, or eating its own tail. This symbolises the cyclical nature of the Universe, creation out of destruction, life out of death, and eternal love. This ring can be soldered closed but cannot be sized.
