Georgian 15ct Gold & Silver Ring set with Four Aquamarines

142X
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A rare gold ring that was made circa 1820.  It has been pinch collet set in settings with four foiled aquamarines. Stones were often foiled to the reverse in jewellery as it gave the gems luminescence. Aquamarines were sometimes, although not often used in Georgian jewels as they were seen as a symbol of purity, love and fidelity, so this ring may well have been an engagement ring.  The is a flared fluted design.

A beautiful Georgian ring to wear with care.

Ollys Pick

I have never seen a ring like this one so perhaps it was a special commission.
