Georgian 15ct Gold Ring set with a Carnelian Engraved Intaglio with a Shooting Scene

612S
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very unusual gold ring that was made circa 1820. It has been set with a that has a charming scene of a man in the trees and his two dogs out shooting. It looks like he may have taken aim and shot the pheasant but it may have got away! The is typical of the late style with repoussee work on the sides with a flower motif. For any sportsman this ring is a must have!

Ollys Pick

I love the quirkyness of this ring. It may have been a special commission in 1820!
