French Import Early 20th Century 18ct Gold & Platinum, Pink Sapphire, Ruby & Diamond Cluster Ring

446W
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a stunning 18ct gold ring that was imported in to France circa 1915-1920. The colour combination of the gem stones is most unusual with a pink sapphire that has an estimated weight of 1.32 carats in the centre surrounded by eighteen rubies and thirty six diamonds around the border. The shoulders have also been set with three small diamonds on either side. Pink sapphires are said to signify love, elegance and compassion. When worn it looks fantastic and would make an unusual engagement or dress ring.

This ring comes with a gemmological certificate that states that thepink sapphire is a natural unheated stone from Sri Lanka (Ceylon)

Ollys Pick

We have never seen this combination of gemstones in an antique ring and love it!
