French Early 19th Century Silver & Foiled Paste Cross

A good example of an early French cross, made circa 1800. It is set with foiled . These crosses were usually tied around the neck with a silk or velvet ribbon. The shape of this jewel was called the Croix de Saint Lo. It was worn in the Empire and Restoration periods.
