French 18ct Gold Bracelet set with Rubies & Sapphires by Camille Bournadet

181W
Written by Olly Gerrish

A stunning gold bracelet that was made by the Camille Bournadet workshop in the 1970s. In 1931, Camille Bournadet founded his workshop in the rue Richelieu in Paris. He was an excellent designer and created pieces of jewellery and then sold them to jewellery shops.  His great-nephew, Roger Mathon, who joined him a few decades later, had studied at the prestigious École Boulle and the School of Decorative Art In 1972, when Camille Bournadet retired, he sold his workshop to Roger. This was the golden age of the workshop, manufacturing pieces of jewellery for well-known brands such as Van Cleef & Arpels and Fred. This heavy gage circle and rope design bracelet is a lovely example of their work and has been set with alternate sapphires and rubies.
