Edwardian Zircon & Diamond Cluster Ring with Diamond Set Shoulders

495S
Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely 14ct gold cluster ring that has been set with a zircon. Zircons were fashionable during the Art Deco period onwards. They are one of the oldest stones that have been used in jewellery for 2000 years. They occur in an array of colours from yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues but blue is the most popular colour. It is surrounded by old mine cut diamonds with a further old mine cut diamond set in to each shoulder. In my opinion it was made in either Austria or Germany circa 1910. It sits low on the finger so it would be ideal to wear as a dress or engagement ring.
