Edwardian Platinum & Diamond Rivière Bracelet

557R
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

An party piece. The rivière (French meaning ‘river’) is type of necklace or bracelet composed of a line of matching diamonds, either graduated or uniform. It was born out of the relative abundance of diamonds that found their way onto the market after the first primary deposit of the gemstone was unearthed in Kimberley, South Africa in the 1870s. With more to play with, this simple yet impressive design graced the necks of anyone wealthy enough to wear it. This example is composed of the thirty-six graduated diamonds totalling approximately 5.81 cts, each set in . It is a beautiful and timeless classic bracelet.
