Edwardian Briolette Cut Citrine Pendant

438R
Written by Olly Gerrish

A charming pendant that is composed of a pretty pale yellow that has been cut “en briollette” with a gold mount. The Briolette is a teardrop shaped cut with elongated facets that are typically triangular or hexagonal. It’s a beautiful way to cut a gemstone and is both very hard to do and stunning when properly done. It is highly brilliant due to the large number of facets in every angle and it’s probably the only cut to feature facets from every angle in a spherical shape. It was made circa 1910. A perfect pendant to wear as it is not too large but twinkly!
