Edwardian 9ct Gold Swallow Tie Pin set with Turquoise & Natural Split Pearls by Murrle Bennett & Co

859L
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty gold swallow tie pin. The swallow was considered daring, risk-seeking, and a symbol of change for good in the future. The use of meant “Forget me not” after the flower of the same name. It also meant “Everlasting love” and “loyalty” as swallows mate for life. It was retailed by the firm Murrle Bennett & Co in their Regent Street premises in the early 1900s. All our tie pins come with a stopper at the end of the pin.
