Edwardian 9ct Gold Back & Front Round Locket Engraved with Swallows & Roses

794X
Written by Olly Gerrish

A round locket that was made circa 1900-1910. It is 9ct back and front. The term “9ct Back & Front” means the front and back are 9ct gold and the inner frames and hinges are metal. It is a lovely design and has been engraved on both sides with swallows and branches of roses. The swallow was considered daring, risk-seeking, and a symbol of change for good in the future. It also meant “Everlasting love” and “loyalty” as swallows mate for life. The rose branches emphasise love. It opens to reveal two compartments for photographs.

A perfect gift to someone that you love.
