Edwardian 18ct Gold, Three Stone Opal Ring with Rose Diamond Points

761S
Written by Olly Gerrish

A good looking 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1900-1910. It has an old 18ct mark then at some point it has been marked with a later hallmark. We often see this when pieces have gone through a retail modern jewellers. It has been set with three evenly matched bright opals that display flashes of red, green and blue. On either side are small rose diamonds known as diamond points as they give the ring a clean line. This was a common occurrence in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery. The shank is a wonderful carved design with scrolls and ornate shoulders. If you love opals this ring is a good example.
