Edwardian 18ct Gold, Old Mine Cut Diamond Five Stone Ring

842W
40 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a lovely five stone diamond ring that was made circa 1900-1910. The 18ct gold band has been claw set with five well matched old mine cut diamonds with a total estimated weight of three quarters of a carat. Unlike modern brilliant cut diamonds, old mine cuts are square or rectangular in outline with high crowns that produce flashes of colour known as ‘fire’. The ring sits low on the finger and curves around nicely.

It would make a perfect engagement ring.
