Edwardian 18ct Gold Double Snake Ring set with a Sapphire & a Diamond

930P
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very good looking 18ct gold double snake ring that was made in the early 1900s. The two snakes lie alongside each other, one has been set with a sapphire, the other with a very bright white old mine cut diamond and they have rose diamond eyes. Snakes mean “Eternal love” so they were given as wedding rings or commitment rings. Many versions were made but this snake ring is lovely as the snakes have friendly expressions and really look like they were made for each other. Some snake rings that we see are really mean looking! It would make a perfect and unusual engagement ring.
