Edwardian 14ct Gold Snake Ring set with Natural Split Pearl & a Ruby

807M
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty 14ct gold snake ring that was most likely made in Germany circa 1910. It is an unusual design and sits well on the finger. The head has been set with a ruby and in the middle is a natural split pearl. The body of the snake has been engraved in a realistic fashion. Snakes mean “Eternal love” so they were traditionally given as wedding rings or commitment rings and are as appropriate today as they were in the early 1900s
