Early 20th Century French Import 18ct Gold & Platinum, Peridot & Rose Diamond Ring

643X
40 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

We all adore this 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1900-1910. It has been rub over set with a beautiful rectangular cushion cut peridot. Peridot is named after the French word “peritot”, meaning gold, because the mineral can vary towards this colour. Peridot is the birthstone for the month of August. It is also the stone given to celebrate the 16th year of marriage. Around the peridot are claw set rose diamonds set in platinum in a woven motif. The bifurcated shoulders are a pretty pierced design and add lightness to this gorgeous ring.

It would make an amazing dress ring.
