Early 20th Century 18ct Gold Ring set with a Zircon

735U
Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely 18ct gold ring that was made in the 1920s and has been claw set with a zircon that weighs approximately just over two carats. Zircons are amazing stones that were  used a lot during the Art Deco period and are one of the oldest stones that have been used in jewellery for over 2000 years. They occur in an array of colours from yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues. The zircon in this ring is an electric colour blue and contrasts well with the simple 18ct yellow gold shank.
