Early 20th Century 18ct Gold & Platinum, Diamond Solitaire Ring with Diamond Set Shoulders

329X
40 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

The diamond is extraordinary. It is the hardest of all known naturally occurring minerals and is almost as old as the earth itself. It is no surprise that, through its ability to endure, it has come to symbolise love. The solitaire diamond ring, so named because of the single stone at its centre, is the classic engagement ring. This Art Deco example is no exception. The round claw set cut brilliant measures just under half a carat, and is a lively little stone. The coronet setting raises it above the finger, and the tapered shoulders that reach up to meet it are also set with small single cut diamonds, creating an interesting profile.

It is a ring waiting for an ‘I do’.
