Early 20th Century 18ct Gold & Platinum, Diamond Daisy Cluster Ring

702T
Written by Olly Gerrish

This neat 18ct gold ring is such a pretty diamond cluster. The stones are particularly good, bright and well matched with a larger diamond in the centre that weighs over half a carat. It is very slightly raised and has ten smaller diamonds around it, hence the term “Daisy ring”. The diamonds are set in platinum rub over settings with millegrain detail. The 18ct yellow gold shank narrows as it meets the cluster to give the ring a lighter look. These rings were given as tokens of love in the early 1900s and are as appropriate now as an engagement ring as they were then. It sits low on the finger so it is a practical ring to wear on an every day basis.
