Early 20th Century 15ct Gold & Platinum, Rose Diamond Daisy Cluster Ring

591R
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty cluster ring that was made circa 1900-1910 and is most likely of Austrian origin. It has been claw set with nine rose diamonds with the largest one in the centre on a slightly raised level. Rose diamonds have a completely different look to brilliant cut stones as they are pointed in the centre rather than a flat table cut, so they reflect the light in a different way. They are particularly impressive in candlelit settings. The shank is 15ct gold and is wasted as it meets the cluster which gives the ring a lighter look. The top is platinum. It sits low on the finger and is a comfortable ring to wear.
