Written by Olly Gerrish

A large and very unusual plique-à-Jour enamel and silver Art Nouveau pendant. Plique a jour is a difficult enamel process, that involves suspending the enamel between silver or gold cells so that it becomes translucent when held to the light.
The front section slides across to reveal a mirror. The front depicts an enamelled diaphanous lady playing a violin, amid flowers. There are eight split natural split pearls and a green oval cabochon cut chalcedony at the top.It is most likely French, circa 1910. and is in very good condition.
